Hey everyone, so I know I'm cutting it pretty close to Christmas but I just recently made my list and decided to share it with you! I thought this would be helpful if you are having a hard time shopping for a teen, especially one who loves makeup/beauty products or if you just want some things to add to your own list! Because this is a beauty blog, I'm only including the beauty things on my list, not things such as clothes! For my list I like to provide a bunch of different options, just in case something isn't availabale at a certain time. I personally find giving a variety makes things a lot easier for people, also some stores aren't available to everyone.
Bath and Body Works
I LOVE their candles especially in the scents cranberry bear bellini, gingerbread, winter candy apple and cranberry woods!
In general my favourite scents are forever sunshine, be enchanted, paris amour, twilight woods and secret wonderland
I also love the shea cashmere cream and the aromatherapy scent in night time tea.
Sephora
Benefit blush in coralista and erase paste in light
Urban decay book of shadows IV and shadows in ydk and ruthless
Buxom cream shadow in mutt
Tarte blush in amused and lip surgence set
Bare Escentuals Oh La Luxe gift set
MAC
MSF in Soft and Gentle
Blush in pinch of peach, blush baby and well dressed
Nail Polish
OPI Designer De Better, Warm and Fozzie, Vodka and Caviar, Roadhouse Blues
China Glaze in Midnight Magic, Emerald Fitzgerald, Swing Baby and Jitterbug
Plain Nail wheels, nail dotter and striping polishes in black and white (available at Sally's)
Other
Conair UCURL Curling wand
Macadamia Hair products
Taylor Swift Wonderstruck
Halle Berry "Halle" Perfume
Also I love VISA Gift cards, they are just like a gift card except you can use them wherever you want, for example I went to Sephora in the USA bought things there and then bought things here in Canada. It allows you to buy things in whatever store you would like but also in other countries! I think they are the perfect thing to buy someone when you aren't sure of what they would like. They are avaiable at banks, grocery stores and even convenience stores!
I hope this list helps you all!

October Favourites
Hey everyone, sorry I've been neglecting you lately, I've been trying to post a few videos on my Youtube channel but have decided to do my October Favourites as a post! So let's get started!
My first favourite is the UD Naked Palette, I feel that this is pretty self explanatory, its a favourite of many and I've been using it practically every day this month to get the perfect neutral eye. The colours I use most are virgin, sin, buck, half baked and smog. I am also planning on doing a tutorial of this for my everyday fall eye look!
My next favourite is the B&BW twilight woods scent, especially the hand cream. The scent is delicious and reminds me of the perfect fall scent, its a bit fruity and floraly at the same time, its pretty complex! This is just in the mini size and I think its perfect to just throw in your purse and use time to time to keep your hands soft for the upcoming winter months!
Next we have the EOS lip balm in lemon drop. This lip balm has SPF 15 and even though it's not super moisturizing its shape is super easy to find in your purse and it makes me want to moisturize my lips. Currently it is working for me but i think in the winter months I will have to move to something more intense like the Nivea Kiss of Moisture lip balm.
Moving to nail polish i have been loving OPI's No Spain no Gain, which I purchased after I posted my fall nail polish video! This is the perfect dark raspberry colour, it's opaque in 2 coats and stays super glossy. I also found that this nail polish formula goes on really smoothly and it lasted on my nails for over a week with just minimal chipping. This colour came out in the Espana collection but I'm sure you will still be able to find it wherever OPI is sold near you.
The next two are my top favourites for the month and both of them are new finds! First is the Revlon Photo ready foundation. It gives a medium coverage and is available in a good variety of skin tones for around $11.00 Canadian. It leaves your skin looking natural and not cakey (I use a stippling brush), however I don't recommend it for taking photos as it has an SPF in it. The next favourite is the Rimmel Age Defying under eye concealer. I got this recommendation from MakeupbyTiffanyD and trust me, it's as good as she claims! This product is super easy to use, theres a lot of product and it has amazing coverage that last on me all day. For around $8.00 I would definitely reccomed picking this up! I will probably be doing a foundation routine on my beauty channel coming soon!
My perfume favourite for the month has been J'adore by Dior, I got this as a sample from Sephora and although I love this scent I probably would never purchase it as the price is so steep! This perfume is extremely floraly and there is no sweet undertones or anything to cut the strong floral scent. You can definitely smell this perfume on you all day and i wouldn't recommend it to anyone who doesn't like strong scents.
The MAC paint pot in bare study is also a top favourite for the month. This is my first paint pot purchase and I definitely don't regret it! I use this almost every day as a base under my eye looks. I find it really intensifies colours such as Urban Decay's Sin. It also makes my shadows last all day without a primer underneath it however I don't have oily lids and have never experienced creasing problems.
My final favourite (but definitely just as good as the rest) is the MAC blush in Breath of Plum. This is the only MAC blush I own and I am now interested in picking up some more. This blush has just the right amount of pigmentation, its not super crazy pigmented but you need to watch how much you put on to prevent looking clown-like. On my cheeks this blush looks super natural and is a perfect everyday fall blush (even though i will probably still wear it in the summer time, it's still got enough of a bright touch!).
These are all my favourites for the month of October, i feel like this has been a pretty good month for beauty products for me, I've found a lot of amazing products, i hope November can be just as great! Please let me know if you like Favourites posts, I probably won't be doing them every month as they get pretty repetitive, however I will likely be doing them once every 2 or 3 months! I hope you try out some of these products and you love them as much as I do!!

Product Deal of the Week!
Hey everyone!
Today I have an exciting post for you about a great find I picked up on my last trip to Winners! As i was browsing through the makeup area I saw this:
Today I have an exciting post for you about a great find I picked up on my last trip to Winners! As i was browsing through the makeup area I saw this:
As you can probably tell, this palette looks incredibly similar to the very popular Too Faced Natural Eye Palette, and guess what! It was only 7.00! The palette comes with 9 neutral eyeshadows ranging from light to dark and has shimmery and matte shades. Many of these shades are highly compared to both the Too Faced natural eye palette and the Urban Decay Naked PaletteI figured that even if the pigmentation wasn't that great, 9 shadows for $7.00 is still an amazing deal! Well it just gets better, the pigmentation is amazing, the shadows are so smooth and apply so easily to the lid with just the smallest amount of product! Below i have some photos of swatches, which were taken with a light hand, very little product was used! The only colours that didn't show up too well on camera were the matte white and the light grey.
As you can tell, the swatches are so pigmented! The colours are swatched in horizontal order starting at the top row. The 2 top lighter shades are somewhat hard to see because they are so close to my skin colour, sorry about that!
Overall, this palette was an AMAZING deal for the price I got it for! It's a great alternative to buying the Too faced palette for almost $40, and the colours are almost identical! I really suggest that you guys check at your local Winners to see if they are selling it there, although i'm not positive they will be seeing as Winners can be a hit or miss kind of store! If you guys can;t find it in stores, they also have a website that you can check out which is www.almarsales.com .
Hope you guys enjoyed this post, talk to you soon!

My Experience with SHELLAC
Hey Everyone!
So about 2 weeks ago I went to my local salon to try out the new SHELLAC polishes. The hype about SHELLAC is basically that it claims to last for 2 weeks without chipping (unless you are doing things that are hard on your nails, gardening etc.) and it also causes no harm to your nails because the polish goes directly onto your own nail (you can have it put on fake nails if you want). The way this is achieved is by applying one coat of the special Shellac polish followed by putting your nails under a UV light for 2 minutes. Since I chose a french manicure the process went as followed: SHELLAC base coat, UV light, SHELLAC white polish, UV light, SHELLAC top coat, followed by UV light for 5 minutes to lock in the manicure. Once the process is over your nails are completely dry and you can pretty much do anything! For my manicure, this process was $30.00 (just colour was $25.00). My process was cheaper because i didn't get a full manicure, they just shaped my nails and painted them. There is also a fee to get the polish soaked off (they soak your nails in acetone for 5 minutes) which was $5.00.
My SHELLAC nails didn't last for the full two weeks, they started to chip after 1 week, first starting off with minor chips then after about a week and a half the polish came completely off of my one nail. Below I have some pictures of the polish and how it wore:
Both photos (above and below) were taken on the day of the manicure |
DAY 4- no chipping, there wasn't much change till around day 9
DAY 9- polish came entirely off of middle finger |
DAY 11- Not much change from before, still a tiny chip on pointer finger, no change on left hand |
Thanks for reading everyone!

No Makeup Makeup Look for Back to School
Hey everyone! Ok I'm trying to do something different so I am going to be doing a tutorial, well more like steps to get the look! This is a simple back to school look that is great to wear if you don't have much time or don't want to look like your wearing makeup, yet still look polished! It's also great for people who are just starting off with makeup and want to look natural! This look is using the UD Naked Palette but you can substitute the colours for anything you own as thy are all pretty back neutrals! I will try to be as descriptive as possible so stick with it!
STEP 1: Apply a base to the lid, i just used the Primer Potion that came with the palette
STEP 2: Take the lightest colour in the palette- Virgin and apply it to your inner tear duct and brow bone
STEP 3: Apply Sidecar to your lid- I just used the Good Karma brush that came with the palette
STEP 4: Using a blending brush (I used the MAC 217) and apply buck lightly to your crease. If you are really pale you may wan to use naked instead so it looks more natural!
STEP 5: If you want your crease to be a bit more defined, take darkhorse on the same brush and lightly apply to your outer v and blend well.
STEP 6: Take any brown eyeliner (you can use black but brown is a lot more natural) and apply a thin line close to your lash line. I used the Sephora long lasting liquid liner
STEP 7: Curl your lashes and apply 1-2 coats of mascara to your top and bottom lashes. If you want you can use brown mascara but I just used black! ( I used the Revlon GrowLuscious mascara)
STEP 8: Apply a natural cheek stain, I used posietint by benefit. Blend well from the apples of your cheeks to your temples.
STEP 9: In order to make your blush last long, apply a powder blush on top of the stain (I used Candid Coral)
Step 10: Apply a natural stain to your lips, once again I used Benefit's posietint!
And then your done!
I hope this tutorial was helpful for you guys and that you recreate it! Leave any requests or inspiration pictures in the comments!

Hard Candy Fox in a Box Blush - Review
One day, while looking through the makeup at Walmart, I came across the Hard Candy Cosmetics section! Although they have many interesting products, the one thing that stood out to me were the fox in a box blushes! I had heard a lot about them on youtube so I decided to give them a try. The one that stood out to me was spicy and sweet because it was a coral blush as opposed to the other one they had which was a hot pink. At around $6 I figured it was worth a try!
This blush is made up of 4 different squares of colour, a coral (w/shimmer), a neutral brown(w/shimmer), a light pink (w/shimmer) and a hot pink. You can either swirl your brush in the product combining the colours and giving you a light coral or use each colour individually, both of which I have done. In the pan, 3 of the 4 shades appear to have shimmer but when applied I didn't see any shimmer at all. The texture is smooth and not overly powdery, I find the ELF Studio Blushes to be a lot more powdery than this. When applied I didn't experience any fallout.
The packaging of this product is very similar to the Benefit boxed blushes, which contributes to why everyone was so intrigued by them. The lid flips back and is sealed with a magnet. The blush also comes with an applicator but it is pretty much useless so I just threw it out.

Nails of the Day - Essie's Peach Daiquiri
Today, as I was looking for a colour to paint my nails with, I had no idea which colour to choose! So i reached for something that I haven't used in a while - Essie's Peach Daiquiri. This colour is so bright and summery, it appears as a pink coral in the bottle but on the nails it can pull either a red or orange coral depending on the lighting! Overall, the colour is gorgeous, bright and can flatter any skin tone.
Application for this polish was good and wasn't streaky, however I am not a fan of the brushes in Essie polish. I think they are too small and take too many strokes to cover the nail. However other than that it was good and only took 2 coats of average thickness in order to have to minimal visible nail line. So far, after having this on my nails for two days, there is barely any chipping, just small chips on both of my pointer fingers, which is expected. For a top coat i used the AVON UV Polish Guard.
Overall, I think this is a good nail polish to add to your collection, the only downside is the 8.00 price tag which is normal for certain polish brands like OPI . The colour is beautiful and the wear time is good as well.
If you have any other nail polish recommendations or review requests please leave them below!

Bath and Body Works Haul!
Hey everyone! Today i have a small Bath & Body Works haul for you all! I went into the store the other day just to look, and ended up finding so many things that I loved! The first thing that caught my eye were the 2 for $30 candles! Except i know i will never use up all of the big ones so I just got the mini candles, which were 3 for $5. The new candle scents were amazing and were fall inspired but my favourites were the mint chocolate and autumn scents! I totally recommend that you all go and smell the mint chocolate candle, its smells so delicious I could eat it!
(Bottom- Mint Chocolate, Top- Autumn)
The next thing that caught my eye was the wallflowers! I've always looked into the wallflowers but I didn't think it would be something I would really want! But once I saw they were on sale I had to look into them more! In the end, I decided to get them, my theory was that if I got the wallflowers, I wouldn't have to worry about plugging them in, and once i walked into my room the scent would already be there, unlike if I were to use candles! They were on for 6 for $24 so I got 1 receptor and 5 scents!
The receptor I chose is a silver leaf, they also had it in a brass colour but the silver went better with my room! |
